NORMA MAUDE COURTS JOHNSTON FURCHI, 69, of West Hamlin, W.Va., passed away Saturday, September 10, 2005, at home after a long illness and went home to be with the Lord. She was born September 12, 1935, on Bear Creek, W.Va., a daughter of the late Jesse and Flossie Courts. She was also preceded in death by husbands, Herbert Johnston and Fred Furchi, and one son, James "J.J." Johnston. Survivors include one daughter, Susan (Phillip) Collins, and four sons, Gail (Deborah), David (Doretta), Scott (Missy) Johnston, all of West Hamlin, and Jesse (Becky) Johnston of Atlanta, Ga.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 14, 2005, at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, with the Rev. Joey Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Ray Cemetery, West Hamlin. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Hospice of Huntington, 1101 6th Ave., Huntington, 25701
