Mr. James C. King, 89, of Milroy, IN passed away at 5:15 AM, November 3rd, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

James was born in Rush County, IN on May 6, 1920, the son of the late Clifford and Clara May (Schrieber) King. He married Claribel Dyer February 2, 1946 and she preceded him in death April 5, 1999. He was a Milroy High School Graduate in 1938. A WW II Army veteran, he served his country from December 29, 1941 to October 9, 1945. He was a lifelong farmer in the Anderson Township area.

He was a a former president of the Rush County School Board; Milroy Utilities Corporation and Board Member & Treasurer for 12 years; Anderson Township Sewer District member; Milroy Masonic Lodge; Scottish Rite & York Rite (lifetime member). He was a member of Milroy United Methodist Church.

James is survived by a daughter, Barbara (husband Tom) Stiers & a son, Phillip (wife Michele) King all of Rushville; a granddaughter Annette (husband Matt) Jones of Carrollton, TX.

In addition to his wife Claribel, he was preceded in death by a brother Norman & sister Lois Norris.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10am on Friday, November 6th, at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Phil Mitchell officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be held at Rushville's East Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8pm Thursday at Todd Funeral Home. There will be a Masonic Memorial Service at 7 pm by the Milroy Masonic Lodge.
