The son of the late Floyd "Sid" and Alma Prater Adams, he was born October 31, 1943 in East St. Louis, IL.
He served in the Navy during Vietnam, and in the Army reserves. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Veronica Scobie Adams, at home; three sons: Paul Earl Adams, Jr. and his wife, Barbara of Montgomery, Robert Adams of Queens Village, NY, and Jeffrey Floyd Adams and his wife, Christina of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren: Robert Jr., Samantha, Paul Earl III, Mathew, Anthony, Stephanie, Julia Adams; brothers: Dewey Adams and his wife, Glenda, Clifford Adams and his wife, Delores, Richard Adams, and sister, Jessie Wareing and her husband, Paul, all of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Aileen.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 20, from 7-9 p.m., and Wednesday, October 21, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Overhiser Funeral Home, 78 Union St., Montgomery.
A funeral mass will be Thursday, October 22, 10 a.m. at Holy Name of Mary Church, 89 Union St., Montgomery. Burial will be in Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen.
