The funeral will be 2 pm Tuesday in McMillan-Small Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Southeastern Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Wheeler was born in Florence, a son of the late Charles E. Wheeler and Mrs. Jho M. Wheeler. He was owner and operator of John M. Wheeler Co., Myrtle Beach, was twice exalted ruler of the Myrtle Beach Elks Club and was past chairman of the Horry County Gamecock Club. He was a member of the American Association of Retired People, Grand Strand Retirement Club, First Presbyterian Church and was a World War II veteran.
Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Ruth Kimball Wheeler of Myrtle Beach; two sisters, Mrs. O. V. Player Sr. of Sumter and Mrs. Robert D Beaumont of Garden City.
