Roy was a member of the Second Ward Republican Club and the Verhovay Home Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Leona McCleary Wamsley.
Roy is survived by his wife: Lila Mae Walck; his daughter Madeline Hawbecker; his sons: Leroy J. of Harrisburg, Gerald J. of Highspire, and Donald McCleary of Harrisburg; his eleven grandchildren; and, his sister: Anna Kidman of Waynesboro.
