SERVICES TO BE HELD HERE THURSDAY FOR JULIA FORT
Julia S. Fort, 70, who lived at 415 S. Arnold, died Monday morning, December 26, at Northwestern hospital in Thief River Falls.
Rev. Berton Hushagen will officiate at the funeral service to be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Green Funeral chapel. The body will repose from noon today (Wednesday) at the Green Funeral HOme until the time of the service on Thursday.
Julis Fort was born in Grygla on April 30, 1907 to Knute & Tilda Sordahl. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and attended school and grew to womanhood in Grygla.
In 1925 she was united in marriage to William J. Fort. The couple farmed for several years in the Goodridge area, and also lived in Hibbing and Michigan before returning to this area.
Surviving are one son, Kenneth, of Thief River Falls; two brothers, Sam Sordahl of Wakefield MI, and Gunder Sordahl of Fergus Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Ida) Srnsky of St. Hilaire, and Mrs. Albert (Hattie Zhorela of Duluth. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1968, one daughter, three sisters, four brothers and her parents.
