William Roscoe Haney, 79, of Newland, died Saturday, December 15, 1984 in a Banner Elk hospital.
He retired from Collins & Aikens of Old Fort and was a son of the late Jeff and Dorthula Phillips Haney.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel Barlow Haney; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Johnson and Mrs. Gene Morgan of Marion; a son, Avery Lloyd Haney of Malvern, Ohio; three sisters, Alice Green of Greensboro, Amanda Painter of Swannanoa and May Phillips of Clinton, S.C.; a brother, Bill Haney of Greensboro; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 1984 in Big Meadows Baptist Church, of which he was a member. The Revs. James Beaver and Calvin Vance officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
