Edgar Thomas Hearn, of Reedsville, R. D., passed away in the Lewistown hospital on Tuesday evening, December 6, 1938, at 6 o'clock. Mr. Hearn had been ill nine weeks. He was born in Pittsburgh and was the son of William Blair Hearn and the late Clare (Weston) Hearn. At the time of death he was aged 43 years, 6 months and 26 days. A World War veteran, he served overseas in the 310th Remount Squadron. He was wounded in action and was gassed. He had been employed at the Standard Steel Works as a burner and was a member of the Wesley Chapel in Stone Vally. Surviving to mourn his passing are hes wife, Mary (Kuhns) Hearn and these children: Blair Hearn, Doris Hearn and Juaniata, all at home. His father, William Blair Hearn and his stepmother of Stone Valley and these brothers and sisters; Fred Hearn, of Yeagertown, John Hearn, of Cleveland, Ohio, William Hearn, of Trego Montana, Martin Hearn, of Dundalk, Maryland, Elliott Hearn, of Boyertown, Chester Hearn, Walter Hearn and Ellwood Hearn, all of Huntingdon, Charles Hearn, of Yeagertown, Mrs. William (Mabel) Musser, of Yeagertown, Mrs. Marshall (Alice) Croyle, of Yeagertown, and Miss Ada Hearn, of Yeagertown, also survive. Funeral services will be held at the Hearn home at Reedsville, R. D., on Saturday afternoon, December 10, at 2 o'clock. The Rev. J. M. Stevens, pastor of the Reedsville Methodist Episcopal church will officiate. Interment will be made in the Church Hill cemetery at Reedsville. Friends will be received at the Hearn home anytime after six o'clock, Thursday evening. Barchus' funeral service.
