Obituary: Whitman, Marion L. (Gerstley) Wright, 103, died Wednesday at Bethesda at Evanswood after a period of failing health. She was wife of the late Clarence A. Wright. Born and educated in South Weymouth, daughter of the late Clarence B. and Mabel E. (Raymond) Gerstley, she lived most of her life in Whitman and Middleboro. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Whitman and was an active member of the Triple G Class within the church. Most recently, she was pleased to receive a Certificate of Appreciation for her participation in the Centenarian Study of Harvard Medical School and the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Pitkanen of Falmouth, Maine and Virginia Bergquist of Duxbury, three granddaughters, six great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Ruth Briggs of Largo, Florida. She was mother of the late Warren Wright, grandmother of the late David Bergquist and great-grandmother of the late Stephen Rising. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, Whitman. Burial will be in Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman.
