Sister Anna Rita, the former Helen Marie Muschiol, was born in Rossberg, Silesia, the daughter of Karl and Victoria Lindner Muschiol. She entered the congregation on August 27, 1932, and professed her religious vows on October 4, 1935.
Sister was a graduate of St. John's Hospital School of Nursing. She served the community as a nurse at hospitals in Illinois and Wisconsin. She returned to the Motherhouse in 1990.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and her Franciscan Sisters, with whom she shared her life for over 77 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Heinrich Muschiol; and one sister, Martha Muschiol.
The Eucharistic Celebration and Rite of Christian Burial was celebrated by Father Vincent Callahan, O.F.M., on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at 8:00 a.m. in St. Clare of Assisi Adoration Chapel at St. Francis Convent.
