She was of the Baptist faith.
Ms. Bowman was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Dotson and Quentin C. Bowman; daughter, Nellie Dotson Bowman; son, David Raymond Dotson; parents, Matthew and Nellie Price Whitley; brothers, Brooks Whitley and Madison Whitley; sisters, Minnie Bell Cleveland, Magdalene James, and Mary Ellen Tucker; and grandchildren, Sherry Eugenia Brock, Ernest Eugene Brock, Helen Jonell Bowman, and Tammy Renee Allen.
Survivors include her children, Edna (Philip) Sanders, Dunlap, TN, Barbara (Robert) Brock, McMinnville, TN, Shirley (Dan) Gibbs, Dunlap, TN, William (Judy) Dotson, Hiram, GA, Roy (Diane) Dotson, Sewanee, GA, Linda (Charles) Cooley, Cartwright, and Eules Dotson, Dunlap, TN; 23 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm CDT Sunday, October 18, 2009 in the Ewton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Barker officiating.
Burial in Collier Cemetery. Visitation 10 – 8 pm Saturday.
