Margaret Payne Pate, ninety-seven years of age, passed away at her residence on January 21, 2008.

She worked as a librarian for many years and she loved to read.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Castellane Pate; a son; William Bell Pate; and a daughter; Mary Lou "Sally" Lowrey.

She is survived by two sons, Clifton Castellane Pate Jr and Robert Bailey Pate; a daughter, Gene May "Jinks" Lee; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
