Ruby Lucille Shifflett Haney, 97 of Elkton, passed away March 29, 2012 at her home.
Mrs. Haney was born September 4, 1914 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late H. Clinton and Alice Mowbray Shifflett.
Ruby was previously employed with Merck and Blue Bell and retired from the Elkton Garment Company. She was an avid sports fan, cheering for the Redskins and Yankees, and enjoyed gardening.
Mrs. Haney is survived by daughter, Betty Engle, Elkton; two grandchildren, Richard "Rick" Engle and Rebecca "Becki" Morris and husband, Ted; three great-grandchildren, Sasha Gregory and husband, Vince, Sara Hensley and husband, Matt and Kendra Plowman; four great-great grandchildren; brother, Marshall Shifflett, Elkton; sister, Ruth Morris, Elkton; and twenty nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Haney was preceded in death by her husband, Claude "Bud" Haney; son-in-law, John " Jack" Engle; and eight sisters and brothers.
Pastor Robert Buchanan and Pastor Wayne Wright will conduct the funeral service at 2:00 pm Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Elkton. Burial will follow in the Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 ~ 8:00 pm at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton.
