Cult member. One of the 39 members of 'Heavens Gate' who committed suicide in March 1997. 45 Y.O. Alan Bowers originally joined the cult in the 70's but left. He worked as a fisherman, but his life took an unpleasant turn when his wife divorced him and his brother died in a fishing accident in 1988. Bowers ran into a member of the group in a New Mexico McDonalds in 1994.
