Strunk, Bill-53, of the Bear Creek community, passed away suddenly Sunday afternoon, June 17, at his home. Mr. Strunk was the son of the late Robert Arthur Strunk and Mahala Neace Strunk of the Bear Creek community. He was a truck driver with Roadway Express, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Highway Baptist Church. Mr. Strunk is survived by his mother, Mahala Neace Strunk of the Bear Creek community; his wife, Mazel Griffis Strunk of the Bear Creek community; two sons, Kelly Wayne Strunk of Stearns, Ky., and James Shayne Strunk of the Bear Creek Community; two sisters, Katherine Ball of Pine Knot, Ky., and Mildred Owens of the Bear Creek community; three brothers: Harold and Edward Strunk, both of Winfield, and Kenneth Strunk of Cincinnati, a special friend, Olee Murphy of Winfield; 4 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Highway Baptist Church in the Bear Creek community at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20 with Rev. James E. Marcum and Rev. C.J. Thompson officiating. The Gospel Seven sang. Burial followed in the Perkins Cemetery. West-Murley Funeral Home in Oneida was in charge of the arrangements.
