Funeral mass for Luis Alvarez will be said at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Helen's Catholic Church. Rev. Joseph G. Gorsuch will officiate.
Mr. Alvarez died Monday, Sept. 17 at his home located at 506 N. Sunshine. He was born on May 3, 1886 in Mexico, and came to Eloy 46 years ago. He has been retired for many years. He worked as a custodian.
His survivors include his wife, Julia; a son, Manuel; two daughters: Mrs. Mary Valdez and Mrs. Sarah Escalante, all of Eloy; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Rosary was recited Wednesday evening at the Valley Funeral Home chapel. Interment followed the mass at Eloy Memorial Park.
