Mr. Verlon W.J. Mitchell, age 83, of Grove Oak, Alabama passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009 at DeKalb Regional Hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 21, 2009 at 2pm from Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Darnell, Rev. Jeff Slaton, and Rev. Dennis Mitchell officiating.
Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery with W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel in charge.
Mr. Mitchell was a member and deacon of Piney Grove Baptist Church, and was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his Wife (Willa Dean Lewis Mitchell).
