Jean Abbott, 76, of Odessa passed away Wednesday October 4, 2006 at her home in Odessa.
Graveside Services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Andrews North Cemetery in Andrews. Marcos Zuniga of Odessa will officiate.
Jean was born April 15, 1930 in San Angelo, Texas. She married Lewis Abbott September 14, 1948 in San Angelo. They moved to Odessa in 1951. Jean was a Teacher and Coach for many years in the Ector County Independent School District, She taught at Bonham Jr. High School and Goliad Elementary School. She was an avid golfer and was a member and past president of the Permian Basin Ladies Golf Association. She won the City Championship several times. She loved her family and Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Abbott, in 2005 and a brother David Jones in 1995.
She is survived by one son, Bruce Abbott of Odessa and his Daughter Taylor of Las Angeles, California; friend, Kathy Casey of Odessa; one daughter, Carole Watts and husband Dusty and their son Seth all of Lubbock; two sisters, Rhonda Varley of Dallas and Zachie Nichols of Aurora, Colorado.
