The youngest of five children, Katie was the daughter of Edward Chabot and Jennie Mason. She graduated from Hardwick Academy in 1941, and on September 1, 1942 she married Charles Cook. They raised six children, two sons, Charles Jr. "Bill" and Gregory "Pete"; and four daughters, Connie, Debbie, Donna and Barbara. She and Charles lived in Greensboro, Greensboro Bend and then in East Hardwick.
Katie was predeceased by two brothers, Louis and Edward Jr. She is survived by two sisters, Mary Matthews and Louise Howard.
