James D. Kaufman

James D. Kaufman, 56, Highview Village, Clearfield R.D., died Wednesday night at the Clearfield Hospital.

Born in Somerset Sept. 24, 1915, he was the son of the late James G. and Nell (Lohr) Kaufman.

Mr. Kaufman was affiliated with the Centre Grove United Methodist Church and the Clearfield American Legion. He served as Sergeant at Arms 40 et. 8. Mr. Kaufman was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Romona (Walker) Kaufman, Clearfield R.D.; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Jacqueline) Carns, Clearfield; and Mrs. Donald (Patricia) Waters, Clearfield R.D.; and a son, Gerald, Houtzdale.

Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Vera Schlosnagle, Berlin, Pa; Mrs. Betty Grundy, Maryland; Mrs. Phyllis Long, California; and Mrs. Nila Miller, Mercer, Pa; and one brother, Kore, Addison, Pa.

Funeral services will be held from the Bennett Funeral Home Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. G. Edward Loreman officiating. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Friday and on Saturday until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Centre Grove Memorial Fund. Military graveside services will be conducted by the John Lewis Shade Post 6.
