Paul L. Acevedo, of Willcox, died May 8, 2000, in Tucson, at the age of 54. He was born in Willcox, on June 29, 1945, to Raul and Ignacia (Leon) Acevedo.
He had been a life long resident of Willcox, working for the State of Arizona in the Highway Maintenance Dept. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Willcox, for which he sang in the choir.
He is survived by his sons, Estaban Acevedo of Willcox, Richard Acevedo of Tucson and Chris Valenzuela of Tucson; daughter, Briana Acevedo of Willcox; mother, Ignacia Acevedo of Willcox; and brothers, Raul and Richard Acevedo both of Tucson. Also surviving is one grandchild K.C. Valenzuela.
Paul was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Elvia Miranda.
Rosary was held on May 11, 2000, at 7 p.m., at Westlawn Chapel, with Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., on May 12, 2000, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial took place at Sunset Cemetery in Willcox.
Services under the direction of Westlawn Chapel & Mortuary in Willcox."
