J. W. HAWKINS (William J. Hawkins), 78, Confederate Veteran, died last night at 7:30 o'clock at the home of his son, C. C. Hawkins at Inman, Route #4, after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be conducted at the Campobello (Methodist) Church this afternoon at 3:00 o'clock, Rev. J. G Wood, of Boiling Springs, officiating. Interment will be made in th church yard (cemetery). Four sons; C. C. Hawkins, Inman, H. C. Hawkins, Spartanburg, J. H. Hawkins, Converse, and C. G. Hawkins, Spartanburg, one daughter, Mrs. G. M. Atkins, of Campobello, Route #3 survive.
