David T Stuart, 98, of Widnoon , Templeton Rd, was pronounced dead on arrival Thursday afternoon at the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He had been a resident of the McKain Nursing Home, in Kittanning.
A lifelong oil and gas driller before his retirement, he was a 32nd Degree Mason at the Pittsburgh Consistory and a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge in Waynesburg.
Born July 21, 1873, at Rosston, he was a son of Hiram L and Margaret (Claypoole) Stuart. His wife, Matilda Ann Stuart, preceded him in death on April 28, 1960.
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs Jessie Riggins of Bloomington, Indiana; three sons, David Jr of Hawaii, Bryon of Verona, James of Rockport, Massachusetts; six grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. A daughter, Mary, died in infancy.
Burial in Widnoon Cemetery.
