BLACK MOUNTAIN [Buncombe Co.]—Randy Calvin Halford, 53, of Black Mountain, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2008.

Mr. Halford was born March 17, 1955, in Buncombe County, where he had lived all of his life. He was retired from the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department. Randy loved antique cars and motorcycles.

He is preceded in death by his father, Junior Calvin Halford.

Randy is survived by his sons, Bryan Halford, Eric Halford and Colton Halford, all of Black Mountain; mother, Lillie Dotson Halford, of Black Mountain; sister, Marie Freeman (Charles); brothers, Dean Halford (Jeanette) and Ronnie Halford (Glenda); and six grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Meadowbrook Freewill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randy Stone officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Harwood Home for Funerals, 208 W. State St., Black Mountain, 828-669-2977.
