The Rev. Alonzo Phillip Strickland, 75, a native of Madison County, died at 1:30 .m.,November 25, 1963, in a Greenville, S.C., hospital following a brief illness. He was a son of the late George W. and Matilda Brewer Strickland.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Annie Cogdill of Waynesville, Mrs. Boyce Norris of Sefro Wooley, Washington, Mrs. Arthur Moore of Waynesville Rt. 4, Mrs. Alton Price of Hot Springs Rt. 1, and Mrs. Kenneth Henson of Marietta, S.C.; two sons, the Rev. Lewis Strickland of Maretta, and the Rev. Estel Strickland of Del Rio, Tenn.; a brother, Joe Strickland of Waynesville; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday in Lusk Chapel Baptist Church. The Rev. Jack Lynch, the Rev Burl Ashely, and the Rev. Jarvis Teague officiated. Burial was in
Flats of Spring Creek Memorial Cemetery.
