Mr. Cooke was the son of the late Rev. J. Wesley and the late Elsie (Taylor) Cooke.
Rev. Cooke was a native of Surry County. He was a US Marine Corp veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was interim pastor at Christ Baptist Church, Midland, NC.
