The Kentucky native was retired from CSX, after more than 30 years of service, and from a long career as a commercial fisherman and shrimper.
Rev. Adams was the founding pastor of Jesus is Lord Cathedral, now known as Lighthouse Prayer Center, on Ratliff Road in Callahan.
He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Adams, in 2003.
Survivors include two sons, Michael (Phyllis) Adams of Yulee, and Malcolm (Sharon) Adams of Callahan; three sisters, Maggie Amburgy, Gracie and Jennie Caudill, all of Kentucky; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
His funeral was Saturday at Callahan Funeral Home. Burial was in Jones Cemetery in Callahan.
