David White served in the United States Coast Artillery Corps, 144th Company,from 1910-1912. He never married nor had children. He went to work for the Wharton Furnace Co. (now Bethlehem Steel) where he fell into a bin of hot iron ore and burned. He was the 5th child out of ten.
