Obituary for Hiram Wesley Sallee, dated 4 Mar 1925:
Several relatives and friends from here attended the funeral of Mr. H. Sallee, at Morocco, Sunday. Mr. Sallee was well known throughout this vicinity, having lived here several years.
Hiram Wesley Sallee, son of William and Sarah Sallee, was born in Ohio, November 15, 1852. In early childhood he came to this vicinity and passed away at his home near Morocco, Ind., February 27, 1925, being 72 years, 3 months, 12 days old at the time of his death. He was married to Mary Flatley of Donovan, Ill., December 1878. Four children: Jessie, Josie, Bessie and LaVerne, were born to this union. The past four years, he has been a patient suffering never complaining and always seeing the brighter side of life. Besides his widow, four children, and fourteen grandchildren, he leaves to mourn his loss, four sisters, three brothers, and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Christian Church of Morocco, Rev. E.S. Worley of Dondovan conducted the services. The music was furnished by a male quartet of Morocco. Interment made in the North Cemetery.
