Daniel Lattimore married Anna Stockton, a daughter of Samuel and Prudence (nee ___?___) Stockton, and a granddaughter of Davis Stockton (c.1685-1761) of Albemarle County, Virginia. There were several marriages between the Lattimore and Stockton families. By 1770 Daniel Lattimore was living on Clark's Fork of Bullock's Creek in present York County, South Carolina. Daniel Lattimore later removed to the Duncan's Creek area in Rutherford County, North Carolina.

Daniel is thought to have been born about 1750 near Batesville, Albemarle County, Virginia. This is next to Mechum's River and near Stockton's Branch of Mechum's River.
