(special thanks to JJ Johnson for the following obituary) Velma Sarah Wyatt Johnson, 93, of the Three & Twenty Community, more recently of Easley Living Center, and wife of the late Edgar B. Johnson, Sr, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at Easley Living Center.

Born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late John Harrison and Viola Finley Wyatt, Mrs. Johnson graduated from Lander College, taught business courses at Tamassee D.A.R. School, and then became a full time homemaker and gardener. She loved to share strawberries, other produce and good cooking with family and friends. Mrs. Johnson was a faithful member of Corinth Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and was active in the WMU. She loved to sing gospel songs.

Surviving are three sons, Eddie Johnson and wife, Judy, John Monroe Johnson and wife, Sherry, and David Johnson and wife, Mary, all of Easley; two daughters, Emily J. East and husband, Jerry, of Seneca, and Margaret Ann Almond and husband, Mike, of Columbus, GA; seven grandchildren, Lynn Hoover, Scott Almond, Phillip Almond, Steve Johnson, Keith Johnson, Tim Johnson and Amber O'Shields; seven great-grandcildren, Scott and Lori Hoover, Sydney and Carlie Almond, Tiffany Johnson, and Sarah Beth and Chloe Johnson.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by four brothers, Broadus Wyatt, Bruce Franklin Wyatt, Joe Ed Wyatt and John H. Wyatt, and by two sisters, Ruth Wittels and Margaret Ann Rhodes.

Burial will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
