Raymond Allen Duncan, 50, of Cross Lanes, went home to be with the Lord on August 15, 2009, due to a short illness.
He was born December 19, 1958, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late Dennis and Elizabeth Duncan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Duncan.
Raymond was a member of Valley View Baptist Church in Cross Lanes, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
He is survived by four sisters, Denice Adkins and her husband Guy, Teresa Conley and her husband Randy, Sandy McAfee, and Kim Eades and her husband Travis; seven nieces; seven nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and his daughter, Megan.
A celebration of Raymond's life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at Barnett Chapel Church at Fishers Ridge, Liberty, with Pastor Paul Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Barnett Chapel Cemetery with military graveside rites.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Rd., Cross Lanes, is in charge of arrangements.
