A service for Lucille Little Baker, 89, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Paul Sever. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home prior to the service at 1 p.m. with the service being at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Little's Chapel Cemetery. She went home to be with our Lord, July 30, 2012, as she gently passed from this life to life eternal. She was born Feb. 22, 1923, in Nacogdoches County. Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, R.L. Baker; her father, Ottis Little; her mother, Cora Perritte; and brothers, Wayne and Buzz Perritte. Surviving her are sons; Don Baker and wife Sharon, Kim Baker and wife Valerie; daughter, Kay Shewmake and husband Fred; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Marie McClure and husband Gerald; brother, Langston Perritte and wife Bonnie. Mrs. Baker was active in Calvary Baptist Church for many years. She loved her Lord and treasured time spent at her church. She was a loving housewife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She taught her three children the way to Christ and it is sure they will meet their Mom and Dad in heaven. Her great joy in this life was cooking for family and friends and receiving them in her home. Honoring Mrs. Baker as pallbearers will be grandsons; Casey Baker, Eric Baker, Trey Shewmake, Dirk Rainwater, Derek Rainwater and family friend, Clay Lee.
