Ethel Collins Adams, 82, Clearspring, died at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 1998, at her home. Mrs. Adams was a member of Valley Home Old Regular Baptist Church. She retired from H.O. Canfield, Seymour, and also had worked at the Shoe Factory in Medora. Born February 7, 1916, at Kings Creek, KY, she was a daughter of Milburn & Viola Maggard Collins. On December 23, 1936, at Whitesburg, KY, she married Bramble Adams, and he survives. Other survivors include a son, John W. Adams, North Vernon; two daughters, Mary Lois Loudin, Seymour, and Sharon Sturgill, Clearspring; a brother, Homer Collins, Tompkinsville, KY; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, six brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren. The Rev. Arnold Barnes and the Rev. Steve Day will conduct services at 2 p.m. Sunday at Valley Home Old Regular Baptist Church, with burial in Valley Home Old Regular Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Zabel Funeral Home, Brownstown; from 10 a.m. until noon Sunday at the funeral home; and from 1 p.m. until time of service Sunday at the church.
