Raymond Robert Murray Jr., 73, of Carlisle died July 13, 2009. He was born Jan. 1, 1936,

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ida Moody Murray; an uncle and aunt, Cleo and Martha Scott; and a grandson, Ben Patterson.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margaret Gipson Murray; children, Kim Patterson and husband Bill of Conway, Sharon Bussard and husband Brian of Cabot and Phillip Murray and wife Dana of Lonoke; seven grandchildren, Will Patterson, Jacob and Bo Tidwell, Drew and Graceon Trickey, Hannah and Zack Murray, and two step-grandchildren, Meagan and Logan Bussard.

He lived his life in Carlisle where he had engaged in farming. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Carlisle where he had previously served as a deacon.

He spent many years involved in the Carlisle school system where he served as past school board member and president.

The family will receive friends today, July 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke. The funeral will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Carlisle with burial in Carlisle Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Carlisle Cemetery Association.
