John Gibson Grindall is the son of John Grindall and Henrietta Gibson(dau of John and Elizabeth Gibson). He married Eleanor Ellen Wheeler(dau of Thomas and Mary Wheeler) 17 Nov 1807 Harford Co, MD. Their children are Joseph Angus, Henrietta, John Thomas, Sylvester, Louisa, Rachel Ann, Charles, Frederick, Alexander, Felix. The spelling of the last name was Grindall/Grindell/Grindle.

"History of Franklin and Pickaway Counties, Ohio" 1880 Page307 John G Grindle of Maryland, located in Monroe township in 1831. His wife was Ellen Wheeler. After a residence of several years in Pickaway County, the family removed to Union county, Ohio, where the mother died in 1860. Mr Grindle died August 22, 1862. The children, who were all born prior to locating in Ohio, numbered ten: but two now live in Pickaway county---Louisa, who married Benjamin Henman, and lives in Muhlenburgh: and Rachel Ann, the widow of Stanton Adkins, who lived in Monroe. John G Grindall purchased property near Circleville Oh, 27 Jul 1835. This appears to be the only property he owned, 125 acres in Monroe Twp. On 13 Jan 1860 John G Grindle and his wife, sold the property to Harvey Allen. They were buried on their son's farm (Sylvester Grindell). The area is now an crossroad and it is unknown where the graves are.(Junction Hwy 24 and Twp Rd 282 Gibson Rd) Later moved to Merritt Farm.
