Daughter of Charles W. & Martha Jane Buckner McKinney; widow of Jacob Shuffler Garrison.

Mrs. Garrison was a native of Buncombe County and had moved to Winston-Salem in September, 1947 to live with a daughter. Her obituary stated she was active in church work as long as her health permitted and was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church.

Survived by six daughters, Mrs. H.E. Miller of Winston-Salem, with whom she made her home, Miss Ethel Garrison, Miss Carrie Garrison, Mrs. H.F. Poteat, Mrs. Robert Elliott, and Mrs. Crowell Black; two sons, J. Frank Garrison of Winston-Salem and J. Ed Garrison of Weaverville; a sister, Charlotte Haseltine McKinney of Weaverville; 17 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and nieces & nephews.

Funeral services: Monday, July 19, 1948, Locust Grove Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. A.K. Cheek, Rev. Roy Roberts, and Rev. Fisher.

Burial: Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery

Pallbearers: William Black, Wilford Black, Carol Roberts, Don Roberts, Glenn Wilde, and Clifford Harron.
