Mr. John Newman Lancaster Jr., age 75, of 818 Turnpike Road, Supply, died Sunday, September 26, 1993, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Lancaster was born in Supply, N.C., on October 18, 1917, and was the son of the late John Newman Lancaster Sr. and Leslie Berlyn Sellers Lancaster. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Lancaster and Snode Lancaster; and two sisters, Alene Hewett and Nelda Hargrove.

He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and Shallotte Lodge 727 A.F. & A.M. and 32nd Degree Mason. Mr. Lancaster was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. For many years he was a commercial fisherman and farmer and enjoyed having his garden.

He is survived by his wife, Vuena Robinson Lancaster of the home; two daughters, Mary Ann Barnes and her husband, Bruce of Supply, and Lou Ellen White and her husband, Junior of Supply; three grandchildren, Benita Hernandez and her husband, Ronnie, David Barnes and his wife, Sharon, Greg White and his wife, Delores, all of Supply; three great- grandchildren, Matthew Barnes, Sara Barnes and Barry Chadwick; a brother, Lacy Lancaster of Supply; four sisters, Velma Robinson of Supply, Theodicia Musselwhite of Shallotte, Doris Thompson of Emerald Isle, N.C., and Betty Wilson of Ellicott City, Md.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 28, 1993, at 3 p.m. in the Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service Chapel, Supply, with the Reverend Truette Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the family cemetery location Turnpike Road, Supply, with Masonic Rites accorded by the Shallotte Lodge #7& 27, A.F. & A.M.

Casket bearers will be Alan Robinson, Linwood Brown, Merell Hawes, Phillip Lancaster, Burness Hewett and Cleo McCranie.

Honorary casket bearers will be Dink Ward, Edsel Norris, Harry Galloway, Blondell Robinson, Fred Cumbee, Eldred Robinson, Carson Varnam, Dr. Lee Langston, and Edgar Caison.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Coble Ward-Smith...
