VASS - Mrs. Viola May Owen, 65, of Vass, passed Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Mrs. Owen was born Nov. 16, 1943, to the late Cloyde and Sylvia Weaver Marks in Orbisonia, Pa.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines with the Rev. Mitchell Norville officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Spring Lake.
Mrs. Owen is survived by her husband of 26 years, Levy Lewis Owen Jr. of Vass; a daughter, Marcy McCoy of Vass; a sister, Nancy Gipe of Spring Run, Pa.; and nephews, Timothy and Terry Gipe, also of Spring Run. Mrs. Owen was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Walter M. and Charles Marks.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 9 to 10 a.m.
