John Edward Morrell, 54, of Route 1, Pioneer, passed away at the Scott County Hospital on July 13. He was son of the late Patrick Morrell and Lena Entry Morrell. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Joseph, Patrick, Richard, and Frank Morrell. Survivors include: wife: Pernie Harness Morrell of Pioneer; two sons: Sonny Dwayne and John Edward, Jr., both of Pioneer; two daughters: Peggy Duncan of Pioneer, and Barbara Lay of Dalton, Ga.; three brothers: Carl Morrell of Cincinnati, O., Lawrence Morrell of Hialeah, Fla., and Donald Morrell of Hollywood, Fla.; and seven sisters: Lucille Edmonds, Ann Messer, Marie Hummel, Margaret Frazer, Virginia Grady, Betty Biederbeck, and Shirley Stevens, all of Cincinnati. A requiem mass was said Sunday, July 15, with Rev. Greg Boisvert officiating. Burial followed in the Botts Cemetery. Scott County Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
