BIOGRAPHICAL:
Robert B. Carson, a dealer in boots and shoes, was born in Ross Co., OH, in March of 1853. He was brought by his father, William Carson, at about a year old, to Champaign Co., OH, where he was raised on a farm. He embarked into the boot and shoe business in Richmond, Wayne Co., IN, in 1877, and remained there for 18 months. Then in July of 1878, Robert engaged in the same business in New Castle, Henry Co., IN.
He married, in 1880, to Luella, the daughter of Dr. Mendenhall, who was one of the oldest physicians in New Castle. Robert and Luella had one daughter, Lillian.
Robert was a stockholder in the New Castle Foundry and Pump Company. He was a member of the Knights of the Pythias and the Masonic fraternity.
