"Marie and Dr. Inman married in 1926 and later had two children, Edward L ee, Jr. and Rose Marie.

"In 1945 Dr. and Mrs. Inman purchased the American National Bank Buildi ng and Marie purchased the Hannah Insurance Agency from J. W. Hannah. I n 1949 they purchased the Apache Telephone Exchange from Johnny and Max ine Robertson and sold it to Sooner State Telephone Company in 1960. Ma rie managed the Telephone Company until they sold it.

"On May 31, 1971 lightning struck and knocked out the southwest corner o f the American National Bank Building. Unable to find anyone to repair t he damage, a decision was made to demolish the building. The townspeopl e wanted the building to remain. As a result she gave the building to t he Apache Historical Society for a museum and library.

"Dr. Inman made house calls. It was not uncommon for him to go several d ays with little sleep. He treated some of his patients whowere unable t o afford medical care at his own expense and with no complaint. He adhe red tothe Hippocratic Oath. It has been said "to know Dr. Inman is to l ove him."
