He is survived by his wife, Cheryl A. Bales; son, Kevin Bales; two daughters, Kristie and Kimberly Bales; stepdaughter, Kendyl Accashian; five sisters, Jo Ann Atkins, Betty Sue Day, Carol Stratton, Barbara Nichols, and Eva Gay Bales; two grandsons, Taylor and Peyton Bales; many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bales was a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam, and a DuPont retiree.
Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bliley's -Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, N.Y. 10605.
