Lois Ida Isbell Phillips, the daughter of Henry Clay Isbell and Mary J. Logsdon of Hart County, Kentucky, was born September 18, 1874 in Kentucky. She was married twice. Her first husband was Eli Thompson Bozarth, the son of Benjamin Franklin Bozarth and Lucinda Templeman. They were married on May 22, 1902 in Grayson County, Kentucky. The marriage was recorded in Marriage Book 6, page 263. After Eli's death on October 2, 1927 in Grayson County, Lois married Ora Franklin Phillips, the son of A. M. Phillips.

She was buried in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery located on the Short Creek / Caneyville Road in Grayson County, Kentucky.
