Funeral service for Annie Laura Schaefer, 71, of Dallas and formerly of Cushing, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009, at the Dickie Allen Funeral Home Chapel in Cushing. Burial will be in the McKnight Cemetery. Mrs. Schaefer died Wednesday in Richardson. She was born November 8, 1937, in Cushing, Texas, to Richard Ellis "Little Papa" and Florence Elmer Lane Mason. She lived in Dallas for most of her life, where she co-owned and operated Dallas American Engineering for over 35 years. She loved cooking and gardening as well as collecting jewelry and dishes. She particularly loved flowers and could identify most of them by scent. Annie Laura was preceded in death by her parents, by sister, Emma Lou Rawlinson, and brother, O.D. Mason. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Richard Ellis and Krista Schaefer of Richardson, Texas, and Frank Schaefer of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Beulah Mae Whitton of Dallas, Texas, Josephine Barnhart of Cushing, Texas; grandchildren, Lily Virginia Emmaleigh Schaefer and Kendal Graeme Schaefer; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Linda and Jim Richardson, Beth and Burt Usry and Mrs. Scott Monroe. Pallbearers will be Ellis Schaefer, Frank Schaefer, Jim Richardson, Burt Usry II, Chris Whitley and Troy Scott Warren. The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice in Dallas and Hope Oncology in Richardson for their loving care. Dickie Allen Funeral Home
