Born Feb. 16, 1925 in Parke County, he was the son of Thomas and Johanna (Reed) Miller, both deceased. He married Evelyn Osborne March 19, 1948; she survives.
Mr. Miller had lived in Rushville since 1948. His early life was spent in Parke County. He worked at Farm Bureau Co-op in Rushville and Evansville several years and Schnadig Corp., where he held various management positions, for 32 years. He was a graduate of Tangier High School and Central Indiana Business College; a World War II veteran, having served in the Coast Gurard for three years; an Elder at First Presbyterian Church; Past Trustee of the Rushville Elks Lodge; and a member of Phoenix Lodge No. 62 F.&A.M. in Rushville. He was active in civic affairs in his younger years, past president of the Rushville Jaycees, board member of the Rushville Boys Club and coached Cub Scout League baseball. He was an active volunteer at the Rushville Salvation Army until it closed.
Survivors in addition to his wife include daughter, Deborah L. Miller of Maryland; son, Mark W. (Lisa) Miller of Colorado; brother, Russell A. Miller of Clinton; granddaughter, Madeline Miller of Colorado; grandsons, Mark and Brian Henderson of Maryland; and sister-in-law, Eileen Fair (and husband, Robert) of Franklin.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert T. Miller.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church of Rushville with Pastor Dena Vittorio officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville.
