Willie Jesse “Billy” Waller passed away peacefully one day before she would have reached the age of 102! She was born on January 21, 1919 in Philadelphia, Tennessee; eighteen days after the death of her father from the Spanish flu. Billy graduated from Loudon High School and attended Virginia Intermont College for Women. She returned and married the love of her life, raised four children and supported her husband in the Philadelphia Hosiery Mill. Billy was an active member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and always took her well known and loved spaghetti casserole to church dinners. She later moved to Loudon and was employed by the Don P Smith Chair Company where she made many good friends. Billy enjoyed visiting with all her neighbors and working in her yard. She loved anytime family and friends dropped by, which they often did. Billy enjoyed a wonderful 100 year birthday celebration in 2019 with many friends and relatives.

Billy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Clyde (Windle) Robinson; husband Edward Warren Waller, Jr; and son-in-law, Jim Randle. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Jane and Lowry Kline, Ann Randle, Ed and Kathy Waller, and Betty and Mike Copeland. She was known and loved as Mama Jess to eleven grandchildren and their spouses, Julie and Guy Dixon, Jennifer and Will Kline, Katie and Blair Kline, Adam and Kass Lawson, Scott and Allison Lawson, John and Kori Randle, Mark and Lisa Randle, Alan and Jamie Waller, Matt and Jill Waller, Courtney Copeland Black, and Leighann Copeland Madden; great-grandchildren, Adelaide, Waller and Henry Dixon, Carolyn, Ellie and Will Kline, Catherine, Sarah Jane and Andy Kline , Annabel and Will Lawson, Jackson, Greyson and Grant Randle, Macy and husband, Andrew Steggeman, Sarah and Keeton Randle, Whitney, Anderson and Keats Waller.

The family is grateful to her nieces, nephews, and cousins for their constant thoughtfulness and to the staff of Lakewood Place for their loving care. Thanks also to her longtime, loyal helper and friend, Tony Smith.

A celebration of Billy’s life will be held at a later date and announced as an addition to this notice. It would please her if you wish to make a contribution in her memory to make it to the Roberson Cemetery, P.O. Box 301, Loudon, TN 37774.
