Leonard C. Critchley

Leonard C. Critchley, 72, of Danese, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2009, at his home following a long illness.

Born April 28, 1937, in Layland, he was the son of the late Perry Ray and Dorothy Lucille Parker Critchley. Leonard had worked as a school bus driver and was self-employed as a contractor in concrete construction. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a U.S. Army veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Pat Critchley.

Survivors include his wife, Nadine Bennett Critchley; four daughters, Theresa Critchley-Edwards of Beckley, Karen Jackson of Beaver, Sherri Critchley of Danese, and Robin Foster and husband, Lonnie, of Gordonsville, Va.; one son, Bryan Critchley and wife, Jerry Lynn, of Danese; four sisters, Loretta Campbell and husband, George, of Danese, Linda Barnes and husband, Jim, of Shepherdsville, Ky., Dorothy Foster and husband, Fred, of Danese and Reva Martin and husband, George, Jr., of Danese; four brothers, Jimmy Critchley of Kentucky, Dennis Critchley and wife, Shirley, of Danese, Julias Critchley and wife, Rosy, of Dalzell, S.C., and Bill Critchley of Danese; nine grandchildren, Tonya Chiarogos, Ericka Critchley, Deanna Critchley, Destiney Symons, Prince and Jermaine Edwards, Tommy Jackson, Ray Critchley, and Zachary Foster; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at the Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle with Pastor Sherman McCombs officiating. Entombment will follow in the Wallace Memorial Mausoleum in Clintonville.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2009, at the funeral home.
