Actress. In a twenty year movie and television career, she will be best remembered as an early "Bond Girl", the traitorous Miss Taro from 1962's "Dr. No". Raised in Leicestershire after her father's death and mother's remarriage, she was educated in Catholic schools and at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. After wartime service with the Entertainments National Service Association, she made her silver screen bow with the 1945 "Caesar and Cleopatra". In the late 1940s, she had parts in "Sleeping Car to Trieste", "Helter Skelter", "Miranda", and others. (Miss Marshall's rather exotic beauty was to land her a number of Oriental roles prior to her turn as the Chinese spy, Miss Taro). Thru the 1950s and 1960s, she appeared regularly on British television in such shows as "Danger Man", and "Sir Francis Drake". She was an Italian Countess in "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" (1965), then left the screen after starring in the 1967 "The Terronauts". Her final credit was the 1971 made-for-television "Act of Betrayal". Miss Marshall took, along with other Bond Girls, some criticism after an early 1960s set of bubblegum cards depicted them semi-nude; the cards are now quite valuable. Married three times, her last husband, producer Ivan Foxwell, died in 2002.
