Smith, David Thomas, 30, of Dallas, passed away Sunday November 15, 1992. David was born December 15, 1961 in New Orleans, LA, and grew up in the Springhill and Bastrop areas of northern Louisiana. An architect, Mr. Smith received his technical experience with Leon Chandler Associates in Austin and most recently with HKS, Inc. in Dallas.

Mr. Smith received his Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude in Theatrical Design from Louisianna Tech University where he was President of the Arts & Architecture Student Association, and a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa and Gamma Beta Phi honor societies. He completed his Masters of Architecture at the University of Texas, Austin with graduate studies in Theatrical Design. David was a member of the Cathedral of Hope Metropolitan Community Church of Dallas.

He is survived by his parents James Maxwell & Pattie Berry Smith of Mobile, Alabama; brother and sister-in-law Steve & Lynda Smith of Lake Jackson, Texas and roommate Samuel Geer of Dallas.

A memorial service will be held at the CATHEDRAL OF HOPE, MCC Dallas, 5353 Maple, Dallas, TX, Wednesday, November 18, 1992 at 4:00 P.M. with the Rev. Paul Tucker officiating and Rev. Carol West and Rev. Michael Piazza assisting. Burial will be Thursday, November 19, 1992 at 1:00 P.M. at Strong Cemetery, Strong, Arkansas.

Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Westlund, Hall Robinson, Humberto Rey, Terry Terrell, Russell Colvin, Marvin Clawson, Phillip Pickett and Ron Bowdoin. Pallbearers will be Ken Mead, Michael Crawford, Tom Hanus, Mike Jackson, Todd Miltner, Joe Price, David Craig, Randy Spraybary and Daryl Smith.

In lieu of the usual remembrances, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Cathedral of Hope, MCC of Dallas. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M., Tuesday, November 17, 1992 at Restland Funeral Home. RESTLAND Greenville Ave. at Restland Rd., 238-7111
